The first cut…

I have been putting off my first post with the hope that something amazing would jump into my head that would be witty, clever and generally worth reading.  I then realised that I could be waiting a long time for this, so what the hell.

Making things has been a part of my life since I was a small child.  When I wasn’t reading, I was making something, it was just the way it was.  While I can’t paint or draw for toffee, I can sew, embroider, knit, crochet, felt, cut and stick, solder and glitter with the best of them.  I suffer from chronic pain, so over the last 6 years  ‘doing things’ has helped my sanity as well as giving me something to do.

Whatever you make, with each stitch, brush stroke or cut, you are putting a bit of yourself into what you do.  You can’t help it, and with what I do, you’ll probably find more than the odd strand of cat hair.
